The Chardham Yatra, one of the most sacred pilgrimages for Hindus, encompasses a journey to four holy sites nestled in the Himalayas of Uttarakhand, India.
These four sites are Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. Each site holds profound spiritual significance, with devotees undertaking the arduous journey seeking purification of their souls and blessings from the deities.
The yatra typically begins from Yamunotri, the source of the Yamuna River, followed by Gangotri, the origin of the Ganges. Then pilgrims trek to Kedarnath, where the revered Kedarnath Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva stands amidst majestic snow-capped peaks. Finally, the journey culminates at Badrinath, where devotees pay homage to Lord Vishnu at the ancient Badrinath Temple.
